Abandoned Kazan Church in Yaropolets. Or Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother
in the village Yaropolets, Volokolamsk district, Moscow region
В августе 2015 мы с моим другом Александром aka Ergo побывали в заброшенной Казанской церкви в Яропольце. Ранее я там был весной 2013го года.
Это ныне заброшенный православный храм, что был построен в период с 1780 по 1798 годы, в усадьбе Ярополец по инициативе графа Захара Чернышева. Уникальный образчик русской архитектуры. Главная отличительная черта храма - наличие двух симметричных барочных куполов-объемов. Архитектурный стиль я бы определил как классицизм с элементами барокко. Впрочем, я не специалист.
В советский период храму был заброшен. Во время Великой Отечественной войны в западную часть храма (с надгробием Чернышева) попал снаряд. После войны храм некоторое время действовал, затем там был Дом Культуры.
Подробная информация по истории храма и усадьбы есть в интернете - не буду ее переписывать. Дальше - только фотографии с комментариями.
In August 2015 me and my friend Alexander aka Ergo visited abandoned Kazan church in Yaropolets village. Previously, I was there in the spring of 2013th year.
It is now abandoned Orthodox church that was built in the period from 1780 to 1798 years, in the estate Yaropolets by initiative of Count Zakhar Chernyshev. It is an unique example of Russian architecture. The main distinguishing feature of the temple - the presence of two symmetrical baroque domes-volumes. Architectural style I would define as classicism with baroque elements. However, I am not an expert.
In the Soviet period, the church was abandoned. During the Great Patriotic War (WW II) german whizzbang hit by in the western part of the temple (where gravestone of count Chernyshev). After the War, the temple was acted for some time, and then there was the House of Culture (There was an tradition in the atheistic USSR to organize in temples museums, Houses of Culture, Palaces of Pioneers and even warehouses and workshops with gyms).
Detailed history information of this church and the estate is on the Internet - I will not overwrite it. Next - only my and historical photos with my comments.

В заключение скажу, что этот храм, наверное, мой любимый. Очень люблю эту церковь и вид ее приносит мне каждый раз очень много грусти. Этот уникальный красивейший храм медленно умирает. Очень жаль, что тратятся столь огромные деньги на строительство железобетонных новодельных церквей в Москве и области, в то время как подобные жемчужины русской православной архитектуры гибнут в забвении. Очень хочется верить и надеяться, что этому храму в конце-концов повезет. Был бы я богатым человеком и меценатом, то позаботился бы о Казанской церкви. Пока не разбогател, могу только лишь написать о нем.
In conclusion, this temple is probably my favorite. I love this church and the sight of her makes me every time a lot of sadness. This unique beautiful temple is slowly dying. It is unfortunate that so much money is spent for the construction of reinforced concrete new churches in Moscow and the region, while such pearls of Russian Orthodox architecture die in oblivion. I'd like to believe and hope that this temple in the end will have luck. If I were a rich man and philanthropist, I would have taken care of Kazan Church. Until, I can only write about it.
